I'm not like a health freak or anything; when my friends want to go out for fast food, I hardly even berate them. I simply let them know in a very casual tone, that they are going to get a heart attack, a blood clot or diabetes from that junk.
Because I care about lives and health, I have outlined a few different healthy fast food alternatives. Most of the meat and deep fried foods you get from the drive-throughs will kill you, not instantly, but little by little.
Though, if you are careful and consciously aware of your health, you should have no problem making good decisions. As it turns out, nutrition and diet have a great deal to do with health.
Who would have thought? According to studies, it seems that what you eat determines a great deal about your physical, mental and emotional health.
But many of us are in a constant hurry and need fuel fast, and that can be difficult to get when you are driving from one job to another. Instead of getting a greasy hamburger that is made of plastic preservatives and spiced with excitotoxins, get a healthy smoothie.
There are a few different places that are good for healthy smoothies, and first on the list is orange peel. This place gets 3 out of 5.
You have to know th
e tricks if you want a tasty and healthy smoothie here. For example, when you order the Tai coconut, you have to specifically ask for it to be sweetened with "fresh" banana, and that makes it so they won't squirt banana syrup in your smoothie.
Usually though they just use Splenda or some sort of aspartame, which is kind of terrible for you. Not totally terrible, but kind of.
If you get a packet of Splenda or equal, bust it open and see how it tastes by itself. It is like pouring raw sulfur on your tongue... well almost.
Then there is Jamba juice, this place is legit. They have their super fresh super shots, their all natural fruit and vegie smoothies, and even have oatmeal smoothies that are going to promote some great digestion.
It seems they have everything. Yes, these folks get a strong 5 out of 5 for healthy, delicious nutritious meal replacements.
Last on the list is emerald city smoothie; and I give them 4 out of 5. They are practically perfect in every way, like Jamba juice, but the only thing is they don't serve anything but smoothies.
They are great smoothies: they have weight loss smoothies, muscle building smoothies, anti-oxidant boosting smoothies, and it is all neatly organized in a menu that sits on the wall behind the cash register. Only you won't be able to get a nice salad, sandwich or wrap here.
