Michigan is America's number one cherry producer; so if you want to learn a few things about how great cherries are just ask a Michiganian (a Michigan native). They will probably tell you first the boring facts like, "oh sure, a cherry tree produces just around 7000 cherries in a season, by golly that's just as much as 28 cherry pies worth"

And then you would say something like, "hmm, I suppose that is kind of interesting". I imagine you would say this with a look of maybe a want-to-be smirk and a slight bend in the brow to express that you really aren't that impressed.

So the Michiganian would then say, "you know there are over 4 million cherry trees here"(because of course you would be in Michigan). Then we would do some simple calculations for an embarrassingly long amount of time while try to use his fingers for calculating figures in the millions and say something like, "You know that is nearly 100 million cherry pies".

"112 million to be exact, yeah nearly one third a pie for every single person in America." That is what you would say depending on if you did the calculations in your head and wanted to show of your skills of arithmetic.

That is a purely hypothetical situation that has probably happened numerous times with tourists heading into Michigan. Though I don't know maybe the native there
are a bit smarter about cherries.

Perhaps they would tell you that the same chemical that gives cherries their red color may also reduce pain better than ibuprofen and aspirin put together (for the record do not mix medications). Besides from relieving pain, cherries are also a huge supplier of anti-oxidants.

Most people are well aware of the immense and beneficial effects of anti-oxidants. Even a Michiganian would be able to tell you, but there may be an excessive amount of uhms and errs.

The basic info on anti-inflammatories like anti-oxidants is this, they act like the U.S. Marine Corps. When some foreign bacteria invade our body, these "A-Os" are called into action and are ready to start putting things in order.

You see, foreign bacteria, also called free radicals, are like radical Islamic terrorists. They want to infect the whole organism, but they are small so they try to infect us with cancer, and I suppose in the terrorist's case it would be terror or something.

Anyway, the anti-oxidants prevent that from happening, not the terrorist attacks but the cancer. Although who knows, if the terrorist ate more cherries perhaps they wouldn't feel so inclined to attack bigger countries.

That is simply speculation, I don't actually have any scientific evidence supporting the case of cherries being a cure for hate mongering terrorists. But it will help to prevent cancer and pain.
