In 1928 Helio Gracie, a rather small man, took his brothers place as teacher in a martial arts class. He realized that he was too small to apply the moves, so he started developing a technique using leverage and time to take opponents down.
Three years later Helio became famous when he took down and defeated a much larger boxer by the name of Antonio Portugol. Now the Gracie's family Ju-Jitsu is recognized as the most effective form of martial arts.
However they also developed a diet, which is scientifically proven to optimize digestion and metabolism. This is going to cause more calorie burn and faster protein synthesis.
So what is the secret to their diet? It is actually quite simple.
Well the secret is to work with your body. This begs the question, how do I do that?
The diet is based on common sense and practical foods. First off, do not eat any fattening fast foods or junk foods.
That is the common sense part. Anything that is high in fat and low in nutrition, try to avoid it.
The second part is eating smaller portions. You may have heard this diet tip before.
Well it actually works, by eating smaller portions more times throu
ghout the day we keep our metabolism working at full steam. This is going to provide more energy throughout the day and more weight loss, so it is a win/ win.
The third thing is combining proper foods. When you are eating highly acidic pineapples it is best to stay away from proteins.
The Gracies have separated the different categories into four groups. Group A is going to be your vegies, proteins and fats.
So you can have a full dinner just by eating from group A; you can have your fatty avocado, your protein rich fish, and also some healthy broccoli. Group B is going to be your starch group.
You are not supposed to eat more than one starch at a time; however you may combine one starch with group A. Your body won't have any problem digesting this.
Group B can also be combined with group c, but remember only one B at a time. Group C is going to be your sweet fruits and creamy cheeses.
Group D should not be combined with any other group ever. These are going to be your acidic fruits, like green apples, pineapples, mangos, and oranges.
So A to B, C to B or any group by its self is acceptable. But beware because you are not to mix B with other B foods.
A and C are not to mix. And D is not to be eaten in conjunction with anything else.
