Waking up, it is about as much fun as slowly being lowered into a vat of bubbling acid. Make waking up a little more enjoyable by eating in the morning.
I know for some of you that will be the only reason you get out of bed. Eating is when we refuel our bodies and satisfy our hunger.
So eating breakfast after a long hard night of sleeping just may be the most beneficial thing you do. But it is not going to do you any good if you are getting that junk food from fast food restaurants.
Breakfast has been molested by the food industry. What was once pure and good is now being turned into a cheap promotional snack.
Eating in the morning should provide a few things: one, a burst of energy to start your day off right; two, lasting energy to keep you moving throughout the day; and three, nutrients to help your body rebuild and replenish itself. If you are not getting these things out of breakfast then you are actually being quite counterproductive.
Things high in protein are great in the morning, because they will give you a good boost of energy that will wake you up. Don't do those energy drinks or energy bars, those are terribly unhealthy.
Many people are going to use energy drink
s and different things like those to get all alert and awake for the day, but these will not help to get into a daily rhythm. The body runs and thrives on routine, by eating you actually are telling your body that this is a time we eat.
If you get in the habit of eating at eight, you will want to wake up naturally around eight just so you can eat. This could become your new alarm clock.
A protein boost of energy is not going to be as powerful or hard hitting as an energy drink, but after about a week of the same routine you will actually be gaining natural energy. This is the healthy way to get energy, and it is cheaper too.
You are also going to want to get grains in your breakfast. Where proteins provide quick energy, carbohydrates are going to provide lasting energy.
Carbohydrates take the body a while to digest, making them provide good sustainable energy throughout the entire day. Controversially though, this is aslo going to make you gain weight if you are eating carbs before bed.
So no breakfast pancakes before bad, this is not healthy. Actually pancakes are not really healthy at all, unless they are whole wheat and you are putting eggs on them rather than syrup.
Or you could put some fresh fruit on them, which would be healthy. Breakfast is only as healthy as you make it.
