It's very important to have the proper attitude when eating, it can affect your digestion. Being angry is probably the worst time to eat anything.
There are studies that show how digestion works better for the body when a person is happy and enjoying good feelings. It has been proven that people feel better after a meal and they avoid stomach upset when they are relaxed.
Many times, when people have upset feelings over something tragic or terribly shocking, they will throw up or vomit. It is too much for the body to handle to deal with really bad news and to work on digestion.
There are many ways to make your meal time more conducive to a happy, relaxing time. Then, you will have the best chance to have your food digest effectively.
You can usually tell if you have had a good meal if you burp afterward. This is the body's way of relieving a little air from the good digestion.
In some cultures, it is considered bad manners if you don't burp after the meal. The cook will think that you didn't like the meal or had a good time eating if there is no burp after the meal.

Set the table beautifully as you can, make things look pleasing, fix nutritious and delicious food, and think happy thoughts. If you can eat with people that you love and care about, you can try to enjoy a good unhurried and pleasant conversation.
Light some candles, put some flowers on the table, or play some classical music. Do whatever you can think of to make the meal time more enjoyable.
Avoid eating when you are upset or agitated. Try to get things resolved, go for a walk, or wait until you have calmed down. Eating while upset is the worst thing you can do for your digestion, and you will feel the consequences later.
