Most people don't take into account a need for cotton candy supplies when they are trying to make sure that all of their wedding preparations have been accomplished, but based on my experience, I think it could be a good thing if they did. I had a best friend who got married a few years back. Her wedding reception was a lot of fun and very memorable. My friend's fiance worked for a party supply store and that is where he came up with the idea to have a cotton candy machine there at their reception.
Some people might scoff and scorn that idea, thinking that the addition of such an attraction might turn a wedding reception's atmosphere into something similar to the feel you would have at a circus or a carnival, but I beg to differ. This wedding reception was a very formal event with delicious food, dancing, and everything else that you might expect from that kind of occasion. The one thing that set this particular gathering apart from others that I had gone to before was that the children in attendance were having the time of their lives.
Most kids aren't too excited about the idea of going somewhere where they have to get dressed up and then maintain perfectly proper behavior the whole time that they are there. This is generally the expectation that parents have for their children when they go to a fancy event like a wedding reception. In the case of this particular wedding celebration, the kids were more than happy to be there. They weren't running around the place like crazy people or anything like that. There was still a nice quiet romantic atmosphere where all the adults could enjoy themselves.
Not only that, but instead of seeing a whole bunch of miserable kids feeling like they were being tortured with a mandate to behave themselves, you could look around the room and see happy children all over the place that were excited to have a treat that they wouldn't normally be able to have. It's true that most people associate cotton candy machines with fairs, carnivals, and even festival type fundraisers at schools, but that doesn't mean that they can't have a place at any other venues. If you or someone you know is in the process of planning a wedding, don't throw the idea of a cotton candy machine out the window before really thinking it through.
