There are a lot of times when people choose to drink tea, but it can be enjoyed almost anytime day or night depending on which one you drink.

Everyone knows that Europeans always loved their tea time, but where did they pick up the habit from? Drinking tea can be traced over two thousand years in Asian cultures. Supposedly the Dutch were the first to bring tea from China in around 1610, though some think it could have came from Japan. Wherever and whoever were the first to introduce to English society started a trend that caught on quickly and over the next hundred years or so it was very fashionable to have tea. There were arguments among those who thought it had excellent benefits and those who thought it might be harmful in some way, but everyone continued to drink it never the less.

Today we have all been convinced that there are many good things about tea and that is a very healthy drink. Tea is a growing business even today with the recent research that has shown that particular teas like the green varieties can be helpful to ward off cancer and other bad things. This is one of the main reasons that tea drinking has risen sharply in recent years. You can buy it in a lot of varieties of tea itself and with special flavorings added to those. When something tastes very good and is healthy too, people will naturally gravitate to it.

While the health benefits of tea are wonderful, some like it for other reasons as well. Chamomile tea is thought to be an excellent choice to drink if you need a little help getting to sleep. It is said to help relax anxious nerves and this just makes sense since it can help you to become drowsy. It is a natural way to calm your nerves and rest well. What is not to like about that?

Many times some teas are used to make people feel better when they are sick. For colds and flu, it seems that many like the chamomile tea, but also teas with honey, lemon, or ginger added in. Some people sat jasmine. Also peppermint tea might be good to drink when you are congested and all stuffed up. The next time you get one of these ailments, try several different ones and see which works best for you.

Drinking tea for the health benefits or comforts that it might provide when you are sick is just fine and well, but many just drink it simply because they like it. Some people that do not or can not drink coffee prefer tea because it is lighter in taste and texture than coffee. You can add milk, cream, and sugar to tea just like you can with coffee. If you are a coffee drinker and have never tried hot tea, it might be good for a change of pace now and again. Anytime is a good time for tea.
