There are many ways to save money on the food you will provide at your reception. This can make your reception economic and a stunning end to your beautiful day.

The most traditional form of reception is held at night. However, if you are looking for ways to save on the cost food, you do not have to hold your reception at night.

In fact, it is perfectly acceptable to have your reception earlier in the day. Your reception may even be more beautiful as it is illuminated by daylight.

In addition to possibly changing the time of day at which you hold your reception, and therefore the kind of food you serve, you can also change the number of people that you invite to the party. The fewer people there are, the less food you will have to provide.

This will keep the celebration to the people who matter most in your life. Instead of talking for a few seconds with a lot of people who you may or may not know, you will be able to celebrate this special day and talk with a few of your closest friends.

If you realize you missed inviting a few vital people, you can hold another party after your wedding. However, if you do not want to accidentally offend Aunt Bertha by not inviting her, you can still have your reception at a different time of the day.

There are many times of the day that receptions commonly take place. One common time is between ten and eleven in the morning.

This brunch reception can save you money on food as you provide fruit, bread, muffins and other breakfast type food. These foods taste delicious and are fairly inexpensive.

It is also likely that people will eat less in the morning. However, a brunch reception can mean that you will have to get up very early to prepare for it.

Another common time to host a reception is during lunch time. Sandwiches, pasta, fruit, and vegetables are both very easy to prepare and provide.

You will have more time to set up this luncheon. In addition, these foods are appropriate for the time of day and they are less expensive than providing dinner fare.

These foods are also very easy to arrange in a beautiful manner. They can add tremendously to the rest of the decorations of the reception.

However, if you are going for the absolute cheapest form of reception the dessert reception is the best. It is very easy to make a mass amount of desserts and the ingredients are often very cheap.

Most of the time dessert receptions are held between two and five in the afternoon. On top of this, very few people will complain about the food.

If you must hold your reception between four and seven in the evening, there is an alternative to serving dinner. Instead, you can make is a cocktail party where you serve hors d'ouvres.

The trays of hors d' ouvres are also very pretty and can add tremendously to the decorations of the reception. These trays can also be very pleasing to the palate.

However, if you must do a dinner reception you can still save money. It will still be the most expensive option, but there are methods to cutting expenses here and there.

Instead of preparing each plate, which would take a significant amount of time and effort on your part, serve the dinner buffet style. You will also save on paying servers.

A buffet style dinner can look very elegant. In addition, people can serve themselves the exact amount of food they want.

Instead of wasting food on them by serving them more than they want, you may have leftovers. If the food is delicious, you will have several great dinners in the weeks to come.

You can also save money by only ordering specific items from a caterer or restaurant and providing the rest yourself. In addition, if someone in your wedding party is willing to pick it up, set it up, take it down, and clean up you can save on paying to have someone else do that.

In addition to saving on the actual food, you can save on the cost of the reception. Often there will be a family member, friend, or acquaintance that would be more than willing to host your reception in their yard for free.

Not only will you have prettier scenery, but you will save a lot of money. You can still set up decorations in their yard in your wedding colors and then everything will pull together.

Your reception can be both affordable and beautiful. It will be the perfect addition to your day.
