One of the most challenging parts of planning a princess party may be deciding what you should serve. You know that the food you serve should be normal party food, but dainty and somewhat healthy at the same time.

The food you want to serve should scream princess. There are many different things that you can serve that will fit this description.

The first thing you may want to consider is a chocolate fountain. A chocolate fountain is always a delight to guests, particularly young princesses.

While chocolate is involved, you can serve a variety of healthy foods to be dipped in it. A few examples include bananas, pretzels, strawberries, pineapple and so forth.

Even though chocolate fountains are very popular, they are not used very often at parties so it will be a great and unique feature of your table. If you ask around, one of your friends probably has a chocolate fountain that you can borrow so that you do not have to pay an expensive rental fee.

In addition, you do not have to stick with the traditional milk chocolate. You can use white or dark chocolate if you think that would be better.

Be sure to provide skewers with the food or this could be a very messy snack. In addition, try to set it up in an area where you will not mind too much if some chocolate is spilled.

However, if you do not have access to a chocolate fountain, you may want do to a fondue instead. These are more common and they provide more flexibility.

If you are not particularly fond of chocolate, you can use melted cheese instead. However, you may want to be careful if you are serving this to young princesses as the fondue pot will probably be very hot.

You do not want your guests going home with burns. Another food items you may want to consider are petite and beautiful princess sandwiches.

These are dainty and very healthy. They also help provide a good lunch and they are variable to any of the princess' special tastes.

It can also be a lot of fun to cut these sandwich
es in various shapes such as crowns, hearts, glass slippers, dresses and so forth. You can also use a strawberry cream cheese to add some pink to the sandwiches.

You may also want to consider chocolate covered strawberries. Even if you do not want to deal with the mess of a chocolate fountain or the potential injuries of a fondue pot, you can still serve chocolate cover items.

Strawberries are a particular favorite. Try to find the right kind of chocolate so that it is not too hard to bite through and will stick to the fruit well.

In addition, it is always a plus if the chocolate tastes good. You may also want to consider dipping the strawberries in several different types of chocolate.

A mix of white, milk and dark covered strawberries can look fantastic on a serving platter. Chocolate covered pretzels can also add the right mix of salty, crunchy, and sweet.

They also easily go into party bags to create a cheap, but delicious party favor bag. Any kind of fruit that you can include in your array is good.

Fruit tastes good and it is definitely something a princess would eat. You may want to consider cutting a whole bunch of different kinds of fruit into bite sized pieces and sticking them on skewers.

The skewers make it look like you put a lot of preparation into the food, but it is really quite simple. In addition, it will taste delicious.

However, if you do not want to go to the trouble of putting the fruit on skewers, you can simply mix it in a fancy pink or glass bowl. A bowl of fruit also looks very fancy and it can be a great way to encourage your young guests to eat something healthy along with the ice cream and cake.

In addition to fruit, you may want to consider a vegetable tray. Most children will avoid this unless they have a parent helping them fill their plate.

However, some child friendly vegetables may still be eaten. You can include more of a variety with older children or teenagers as they may appreciate it more.

If your princess party is going to occur in the morning you may want to serve blueberry pancakes. Consider forming these pancakes in the shape of crowns, castles, or other princess shapes.
